This hat pattern has been written specifically for mixing and matching all those scraps into a no-fail design that celebrates the nature of handmade one-of-a-kind. The pattern is written for 5 (or more colours) but if you have fewer than this, you can re-use a colour already knit for another section. For best results, ensure the pairing is unique, and has enough contrast to enhance the colour play.
