The True Cost of Wool : A Night with Anna Hunter
Unravel What’s Behind the Yarn We Love
Join us for a rare opportunity to spend an evening with Anna Hunter—author, first-generation sheep farmer, wool mill owner, and one of Canada’s leading advocates for sustainable fibre.
Anna’s powerful new book, The True Cost of Wool, pulls back the curtain on the global wool industry. From climate impacts to community-driven alternatives, she explores how wool can both harm and heal—depending on how it’s grown, processed, and valued.
Based in Eastern Manitoba on Treaty 1 Territory, Anna runs Long Way Homestead, a regenerative farm and wool mill working to reconnect Canadian fibre producers with conscious consumers and makers.
This intimate event includes:
-
A 45-minute talk by Anna Hunter
-
Audience Q&A
-
A signed copy of her book (The True Cost of Wool, 2025 release)
-
And the chance to connect with other local fibre lovers, makers, and sustainability advocates
Whether you knit, farm, care about slow fashion, or just want to learn more about where your materials come from, this is an inspiring and eye-opening evening you won’t want to miss.
